ശ്രീ നാരായണഗുരുവിനെ കുറിച്ച് അറിയാനും വായിക്കാനും വലിയ അഗ്രഹമുണ്ട്. 2nd hand വിവരമല്ലാതെ ഇന്റര്‍നെറ്റിലെങ്ങും ഗുരു എഴുതിയ ഒരു കൃതിയും വായിക്കാന്‍ ഇല്ലല്ലോ. വിവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ വായിച്ചു. പക്ഷെ അതും 2nd hand അല്ലെ.
ഭാരതത്തില്‍ തന്നെ ഏറ്റവും ശ്രദ്ധേയമായ സമൂഹിക വിപ്ലവം ശ്രിഷ്ടിച്ച്, മലായാള മണ്ണില്‍ ജനിച്ച് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഒരു കൃതിയും ഇന്റര്‍നെറ്റില്‍ എങ്ങും വായിക്കാന്‍ ഇല്ല.
ഗുരുവിന്റെ ഉപദേശങ്ങള്‍കുമുണ്ടൊ പകര്‍പ്പവകാശം? മലാളികളെ എങ്ങനെ പള്ള് പറയാതിരിക്കും. ഇത്രയും ഗതികെട്ട ഒരു ജനതയാണോ നമ്മുടേത്?

നിത്യ ചൈതന്യ യതി മിക്കതിനും ഇംഗ്ളീഷ് പരിഭാഷ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. നെറ്റില് ഇല്ലെങ്കില്‍ സമയം പോലെ കുറേശ്ശേ അടിച്ചു കേറ്‍റാം

ReplyDeleteമിക്ക ലെക ഭാഷകളേയും നിലനിര്‍ത്തിയിരുന്നതും മത ഗ്രന്ധങ്ങളും ചരിത്ര പ്രാധാന്യമുള്ള രേഖകളുമാണ്‍. അറബിയും, ഹീബ്രൂവും, സംസ്കൃതവും, തമിഴും, ചൈനീസും എല്ലാം ഇന്ന് നമുക്ക് വലിയ കളങ്കമില്ലാതെ തന്നെ നിലനില്ക്കുന്നതിന്റെ കാരണവും അതാണ്‍.
നാരായണ ഗുരുവിന്റേയും, ചട്ടമ്പി സ്വകളുടേയും കൃതികള്‍ തനി മലയാളത്തില്‍ തന്നെ ഇന്റര്‍നെറ്റില്‍ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കണം.
മലയാള ഭാഷയെ നിലനിര്ത്തുന്നത് ആ ഭാഷയിലുള്ള് സാഹിത്യങ്ങളും, സാംസ്കാരിക കൃതികളുമാണ്‍. ഇന്ന് ഇന്റര്‍നെറ്റില്‍ മലയാള കൃതികളുടെ അസാനിദ്ധ്യം ശ്രദ്ദേയമാണ്‍.
എല്ലാവരുടേയും സഹകരണം ഇതിന്‍ ആവശ്യമാണ്‍.

വിക്കിപീഡിയയിലേക്കു താങ്കള്‍ ചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രവൃത്തികള്‍ സ്തുത്യര്‍ഹമാണു്. ഇതുപോലെ പലര്‍ അവരവരുടെ കഴിവനുസരിച്ചു ചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രവൃത്തികള്‍ കൊണ്ടാണു് വിക്കിപീഡിയ നന്നാവുന്നതു്. ഓണ്‍‌ലൈന്‍ ഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങളുടെ കാര്യങ്ങളും അങ്ങനെ തന്നെ.
പക്ഷേ, ഇല്ലാത്ത ഒന്നിനെ ചൂണ്ടിക്കാണിച്ചു് “മലാളികളെ എങ്ങനെ പള്ള് പറയാതിരിക്കും. ഇത്രയും ഗതികെട്ട ഒരു ജനതയാണോ നമ്മുടേത്?...” എന്നും മറ്റും പറയുന്നതു ബാലിശമാണു്. താങ്കള്‍ക്കു മലയാളികളോടുണ്ടെന്നു തോന്നിപ്പിക്കുന്ന അവജ്ഞയെപ്പറ്റി ഇതിനു മുമ്പു് ഇവിടെ ഒരു വലിയ വാഗ്വാദം തന്നെ നടന്നതുകൊണ്ടു് അതു ഞാന്‍ ഏറ്റുപിടിക്കുന്നില്ല. ശ്രീനാരായണഗുരുവിന്റെ കൃതികള്‍ ടൈപ്പു ചെയ്യാന്‍ ആര്‍ക്കും സമയം കിട്ടിയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു് ‘മലാളികള്‍’ എങ്ങനെയാണു ഗതികെട്ട ജനതയാകുന്നതു്?
അതുപോലെ, വിക്കിപീഡിയയില്‍ എന്തിനു വെള്ളാപ്പള്ളിയെപ്പറ്റി ലേഖനമെഴുതി എന്നു ചോദിക്കാം. പക്ഷേ എന്തുകൊണ്ടു് പല്പുവിനെപ്പറ്റി എഴുതിയില്ല എന്നതിനു് അര്‍ത്ഥമില്ല. ആര്‍ക്കും സമയമില്ലാത്തതു കൊണ്ടു്.
ഡാര്‍ജിലിംഗിനെപ്പറ്റി എഴുതി, എന്തുകൊണ്ടു കിള്ളിക്കുറിശ്ശിമംഗലത്തെപ്പറ്റി എഴുതിയില്ല, കെ. കരുണാകരനെപ്പറ്റി എഴുതി, എന്തുകൊണ്ടു ചാണക്യനെപ്പറ്റി എഴുതിയില്ല, ചാള്‍സ് ഡാര്‍വിനെപ്പറ്റി എഴുതി, എന്തുകൊണ്ടു് ഐസക് ന്യൂട്ടനെപ്പറ്റി എഴുതിയില്ല എന്നൊക്കെ ചോദിച്ചിട്ടു വല്ല കാര്യവുമുണ്ടോ?
എന്നെയും നിങ്ങളെയും പോലെയുള്ള നല്ല ആളുകളുടെ ശ്രമഫലമായാണു് ആളുകള്‍ക്കു ഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങള്‍ ലഭ്യമാകുന്നതു്. ഏതാനും ഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങള്‍ ടൈപ്പു ചെയ്യാന്‍ ഞാന്‍ സഹായിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടു്. പക്ഷേ അവയെക്കാള്‍ മഹത്തായ പുസ്തകങ്ങള്‍ എത്ര കിടക്കുന്നു?
അവനവനു ചെയ്യാന്‍ പറ്റുന്നതു ചെയ്യുക. ചെയ്യുന്ന മറ്റുള്ളവരെ പള്ളു പറയാതിരിക്കുക. മലയാളികളോടു താങ്കള്‍ക്കുള്ള ഈ അവജ്ഞ ഒഴിവാക്കുക. അപേക്ഷയാണു്.

I am pissed off now so I will switch to English. Listen well. We claim to be the most literate state in the country. Its a pathetic lie. We are not litrate. We do not value education. We do not value history. We do not value culture.
You will all be tempted to sling cheap shots at me for saying this. But are you the average malayalee? Absolutely not. You and all those who have contributed your efforts to Wikipedia and wikisource etc are not Average by any means.
You say I have contempt. Its not contempt. Its anger.
I am angry at those who have the means to read and write in Malayalam and yet fail to contribute.
I am angry at the accademics who do not see the need to embrace this wonderful media and cease the moment to expand our educational resources.
I am angry at our government agencies who do not put their people's needs before their political agenda.
Its sheer anger. If it was contempt. I wouldn't waste my time here. telling you this.

ReplyDeleteBeing a literate person is one thing, being a literary person is another, being a perpetuator of culture need necessarily be related to these two either.
I appreciate your efforts and I am an avid admirer of wiki. But I tend to differ on your observation that all those who fail to contribute to wiki do not value our culture. There are so many researches, studies, teaching, practicing, performing, funding and sponsoring, developing, revamping and reinstating efforts going on offline. Internet is not the only perpetuator of knowledge, though it is a powerful one. Though it is a powerful disseminator, it isnt a very powerful creator of knowledge either.
I dont keep any of Guru's works because of my inability to understand pachamalayalam, I have some writings by Chattampi Swami . Would be happy to start soemthing on those lines on Wiki, if none else has done that already.

Entire Libraries are available online.
We hardly have a digital archive of our classical works.
Its not about the internet. Its about preservation and availability of literary works. The very reason that there are no online searchable archives of Malayalam works is proof that we as a community do not hold academic research as a serious endeavor.
Academics has been reduced to the acquisition of a well paying job. None of our newspapers or periodicals have a searchable database. We still do not have the basic tools for desktop publishing like thesaurus, proofing, voice recognition etc. Where is the Malayalam Language headed?
The reason we hold Unicode as so important to us is because that is the foundation for all the above requirements.
I want more people to see the larger picture. There remains a vast expanse between those who have access to the internet and those who do not. Those who see its potential and those who do not. Unless they are introduced to the vast potential of the internet they will not realize it potential.
Beyond the basic communication tasks, the internet is a very large organism that will synthesis information. The collaborative synthesis of information is a revolutionary shift from accepted paradigms of data acquisition.
As you rightly said the vast amount of research and knowledge workers are outside the perimeter of the internet. What's within is just residue. It is of utmost importance that those academicians that are outside the internet should be welcome and accommodated within the fold. This will ensure a better quality of information that is available to the masses.
At times I may seem harsh and angry. But that's the way I am. I don't believe in euphemisms when it comes to negligence and procrastination.
