This is an expected area that may be immediately submerged due to the breaching of the Mullaperiyar Dam.
The flood path will most probably be heading northwards along the Periyar river towards the Idukki reservoir. The high mountains along the Periyar river may guide the flow with minor spillage along tributaries.
The following areas will be permanently submerged.

So kaipally, you make this map on the assumption that the flood outburst will be contained by the Idukki Reservoir. But if it does not?

ReplyDeleteഇടുക്കിക്ക് താങ്ങാ‍ന്‍ കഴിയാതെ വന്നാല്‍ അതില്‍ നാശം വിതക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലവും ഇങ്ങനെ രേഖപ്പെടുത്താന്‍ കഴിയുമോ? അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്താല്‍ അത് വളരെ ഉപകാരപ്രദമാവും. മാത്രമല്ല അതിന്റെ ആധികാരികതയൊന്നും പ്രശ്നമല്ല നമ്മള്‍ക്കത് പ്രചരിപ്പിക്കാന്‍ ശ്രമിക്കാം. പൈസവാങ്ങുന്ന ഒരു കോണാണ്ട്രന്മാരും ഇത്തരം ഒരു മാപ്പോ, ഡിസാസ്റ്റര്‍ മാനേജ്മെന്റ് പ്രിപ്പറേഷന്‍ റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടോ ജനങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് മുമ്പില്‍ വച്ചിട്ടില്ലല്ലോ.
സമയമുണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ അങ്ങനെയും ഒരു മാപ്പുണ്ടാക്കാന്‍ ശ്രമിക്കുക.
